Thurgood Marshall was born on July 2, 1908, in Baltimore, Maryland. Awkwardly he was born into a middle class family where his dad worked as a waiter in the country club steward and his mother worked as a elementary teacher. Every time Marshall would get into trouble in school he was to memorize a section in the constitution and this punishment would serve him good later in his future. He graduated from high school in 1925 and wanted to follow in his brothers footsteps on going to Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. He graduated in 1930 from Lincoln and he wanted to further his carrer into law so he applied at university of Maryland law school but was denied because he was black. Marshall would go on to win very important Supreme Court cases such as Brown v. Board of education Sweatt v. Painter and McLaurin v. Oklahoma State Regents.

Did you know that in Oklahoma, it’s legal to carry a gun in public while drunk?

This guy I know has a concealed weapon permit and carries a gun everywhere. One day he went to a bar, and I was on the phone with him and he sounded totally drunk and he said he had had 8 shots, and he was going to go to another bar. I told my roommate this, and he totally freaked out and called the cops. Now here’s the kicker: the dispatcher connected us to a desk officer, who said that it is completely legal. In Oklahoma there is no law prohibiting people with concealed carry permits from carrying a gun while intoxicated.

So let me get this straight. If I get drunk and get behind the wheel of a car, I can get arrested. But if I get drunk and I have a loaded handgun in my belt, it’s fine? What is America coming to?
